just a little poker
Didnt play a whole lot of poker today, having some personal problems so i was preoccupied for most of the day.
I played a $20 mmt tourney, i built up to 1800 really early but bleeded a bunch of it away and then overplayed AQ against KK on a Q high board. I really should have gotten away from my hand but what can you do.
I played some more stud hi/lo and that game can have some huge swings, the average pot at the .5/1 table was $20, it was crazy, everyone just calls to the river. I dont think they even know the rules of stud hi/lo. I lost $20 in about 10 hands, had a few great low draws and just keep hitting pairs.
Played a little 2/4 and recovered my buy in for the tournament plus a few more bucks. Nothing spectacular happened. 2/4 is such a different game then 1/2 its crazy. At 1/2 the players are so passive, alot of my winnings comes from uncontested pots but 2/4 is the exact oppposite. People are gonna stay till the river no matter what. I get called by Q high on a regular basis. They will never fold a pocket pair reguardless of how many overcards there are, ie today i had A9 flop comes AK4 bet out, 2 callers turn Q, bet 2 callers, river 10, damn it, check, one bets other raises i fold, other reraises and flips over JJ other guy has 1010, thanks retards.
I really gonna try to get some B&M play in this weekend, the 3/6 and 6/12 games are just ripe for the picking, but it can get frustrating cuz if you hit a downswing it takes much longer to recover from since you get so many less hands per hour.
The new computer should be here next week and I cant wait, this laptop needs to go. I think its gonna explode everytime i open up Pokertracker. My database is getting fairly large so it takes forever to load everytime i update.
Well im off to finish my essay and get some sleep, did i say finish, i meant start
